The Zamfara State Police Command has announced the commencement of the 2nd Phase of the nationwide registration and capturing of retired Police Officers in the ongoing enrolment of retired Officers on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) beginning on 15th March, 2021.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Command’s spokesman, Mohammed Shehu; a Superintendent of Police said “the exercise is in line with the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar Adamu’s resolve to ensure that no retired Police officer including his or her spouse irrespective of rank is left out from having full access to all NHIS services and benefits covered by the Police Health Maintenance Organisation (Police – HMO Code 073).”
According to the spokesman, “the exercise will take place at various Police Area Commands in the state (each with a spouse), who were not captured in the 1st Phase of the exercise. They are on this note required to visit any Police Area Command closet to them with their letter of retirement and Retiree’s I. D Card.”
“The registration and capturing for Zamfara State is scheduled to commence from Monday 12th April 2021 – Thursday 15th April, 2021,” the statement added.
“The registration and services provided under this scheme are absolutely free of charge and without any deduction from the Retiree’s monthly pension.”
The Commissioner of Police Abutu Yaro has therefore urged all retired Police Officers in the State “who were not captured in the 1st Phase to come out for this laudable gesture of the Inspector-General of Police who is always passionate about the welfare of serving and retired Police Officers in the country.”
