Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady, has called on Nigerians to embrace cleanliness and environmental preservation as common social obligations.

With the theme “Clean Energy for People and Planet,” Tinubu made the appeal in Abuja on Monday in honour of the International Day of Clean Energy 2026.

According to her, the day reminds all Nigerians of their shared responsibility to save the environment.

“I implore everyone to adopt sustainable technologies and renewable energy as a vital basis for environmental stewardship, good living, and survival.

“Let’s collaborate to create a healthier, greener world for everybody,” she declared.

Additionally, she wished Nigerians a joyous International Day of Clean Energy.

The United Nations General Assembly established the International Day of Clean Energy, which is celebrated on January 26 every year (resolution A/77/327).

For the benefit of people and the environment, the day aims to increase awareness and spur action for a fair and equitable switch to clean energy.
