MTN Nigeria is accelerating its digital infrastructure agenda with the expansion of FibreX, a bold initiative designed to deliver high-speed broadband access to up to 8 million Nigerian homes by 2028.

The ambitious rollout aims to make reliable, ultra-fast internet more accessible than ever, empowering families, businesses, and communities to thrive in a fully connected digital economy.

At the heart of this vision is the Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) project, which targets an initial 3 million home connections, focusing on urban and semi-urban clusters. The goal is simple yet transformative: to ensure millions more Nigerians enjoy unlimited broadband access that fuels education, innovation, and productivity.

To accelerate the deployment, MTN is forging strategic partnerships with Infrastructure Companies (Infracos), state governments, and local contractors, a collaborative approach that enables faster delivery, job creation, and wider economic impact.

Commenting on the initiative, Egerton Idehen, Chief Broadband Officer, said:

“Every kilometre of fibre strengthens Nigeria’s economic resilience. With FibreX, we’re not just laying cables, we’re building the digital foundation for tomorrow’s growth.”

Beyond connectivity, FibreX represents a long-term investment in Nigeria’s digital transformation, a platform that will power smart cities, digital education, and next-generation enterprises across the nation.

FibreX isn’t just a network; it’s a foundation for the future.
