The Super Eagles of Nigeria earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Russia in an international friendly match held at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, with Tolu Arokodare scoring his maiden goal for the national team.

The game began on a frustrating note for Nigeria, as defender Semi Ajayi inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, giving the hosts the lead midway through the first half. Despite the early setback, both teams continued to battle fiercely, with the opening 45 minutes evenly contested.

The Super Eagles came out stronger in the second half, applying sustained pressure on the Russian defense. Their persistence paid off when Arokodare, making only his second appearance for the national team, found the net with a composed finish to draw Nigeria level.

Both sides had late opportunities to snatch a win, but solid goalkeeping and missed chances ensured the match ended in a stalemate.

The result sees Nigeria maintain their unbeaten run during the May/June international window, providing a confidence boost as preparations continue for upcoming competitive fixtures.
