Arsenal Football Club have entered advanced negotiations with RB Leipzig for the potential signing of highly-rated Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško, according to renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

In an update shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, Romano revealed that discussions between the two clubs, as well as the player’s representatives, are progressing positively, though no agreement has been reached as of yet.

“Understand Arsenal are now advancing in negotiations for Benjamin Sesko after initial concrete talks reported last week. Discussions are underway and proceeding well between all parties involved, players & clubs. No agreement yet now or expected this weekend; but advancing,” Romano posted.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly eager to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the 2025/2026 Premier League campaign, following back-to-back second-place finishes. Šeško, 21, is seen as a long-term solution to lead the line at the Emirates Stadium.

However, the North London club may have to dig deep into their transfer budget, as RB Leipzig have set a steep asking price of £92.5 million for the young forward.

Šeško has emerged as one of the most promising attacking talents in Europe, with a blend of pace, physicality, and goal-scoring instinct that has attracted interest from top clubs across the continent.

If completed, the deal would represent one of the marquee transfers of the summer window and a significant statement of intent from Arsenal as they look to close the gap on domestic and European rivals.
