An X user shared a photo and video of her donning a green and white outfit, urging her to join the fight against corruption in the country. The user expressed concern about Nigeria’s struggles, stating, “Kate, your attitude is really beautiful, but we all must do more to bring relief to a bedridden, battered country bleeding from so many wounds. The giant of Africa is rich in resources, yet its citizens are the poorest, striving to survive amidst serious hardship. We need to collectively fight corruption, insecurity, injustice, underdevelopment, and more to enable healing.”
This post led to confusion among other users, with one even questioning, “Wetin you want make she do?”
Henshaw quickly took notice of the comment and responded with sarcasm: “Toh. I shouldn’t smile or wear clothes naaaa?” She then directly addressed the original critic, saying, “Your compliment about my attire and the rest of your comment leaves me wondering if you think I am the problem you have described. I have no desire to prove to you what my contributions are. You have ‘rulers’ whose job description they are yet to carry out. Thanks.”
In a show of solidarity, Henshaw also reposted a tweet that resonated with her situation, stating, “Nigerians would rather attack everything else than the root of the problem. If they do, it will solve the problem and leave them without something to always complain about. As you can see, complaining is our hobby and national pastime. So, Madam Kate, ignore these trolls and keep winning. Nigerians would always be Nigerians.”
