The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) recently welcomed a team from Paradigm Initiative, led by its Acting Chief Operating Officer, Adeboye Adegoke. The meeting focused on exploring collaborative efforts to connect underserved Nigerians with digital opportunities aimed at improving livelihoods through digital literacy training.
During the discussion, the Director General shared NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0) with the Paradigm Initiative team. He emphasized the critical role of digital literacy in empowering marginalized communities and bridging the digital divide. The Director General highlighted several key initiatives within SRAP 2.0, including expanding broadband access, enhancing cybersecurity, and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the tech sector.
Adeboye Adegoke expressed Paradigm Initiative’s enthusiasm for the potential collaboration, noting the organization’s long-standing commitment to digital inclusion and advocacy. He outlined Paradigm Initiative’s successful programs, such as the Digital Inclusion Program, which provides training and resources to underserved youth and communities across Nigeria.
Both parties discussed the importance of public-private partnerships in driving digital transformation and agreed on the need to leverage their respective strengths. The collaboration aims to develop targeted digital literacy programs, provide access to affordable internet services, and create sustainable job opportunities in the digital economy.
The Director General urged Paradigm Initiative to integrate its efforts with NITDA’s ongoing projects to maximize impact. He underscored the importance of aligning with the national agenda to unlock Nigeria’s digital economy potential and support the President’s priority of economic reform for sustained and inclusive growth.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to continue discussions and develop a concrete action plan for collaboration. Both NITDA and Paradigm Initiative are optimistic that their joint efforts will significantly contribute to improving digital literacy and economic opportunities for underserved Nigerians.
