Leading fintech platform PalmPay has concluded its innovative savings campaign, where 10 lucky users have been rewarded with cutting-edge iPhone 15 and TECNO smartphones. The initiative aimed to promote financial literacy and encourage responsible saving habits among its user base.

The campaign, which spanned from November 28 to December 7, witnessed users vying for a chance to win a share of N10 billion trial cash. The ultimate prizes were five iPhone 15s and five TECNO Phantom X2 smartphones. The winners were officially announced at the end of the campaign by Kevin Olumese, Senior Marketing Manager at PalmPay, who commended the victors for their commitment to financial prudence.

Speaking about the PalmPay Savings Challenge, Mr. Olumese remarked, “To the winners of the PalmPay Savings Challenge, their win is proof that there’s gain in imbibing the habit of saving; gain in delaying that gratification to spend on one’s immediate want and instead saving to spend on one’s need.”

Recognizing the challenges of saving in a world of instant gratification, Mr. Olumese explained that the campaign aimed to discourage users from succumbing to impulsive spending and instead cultivate a habit of saving for future needs.

In a year that has posed challenges for many Nigerians, PalmPay expressed happiness in presenting these ten fortunate winners with coveted smartphone gifts. Mr. Olumese added, “We hope that this will brighten up their experience for the year.”

Expressing gratitude for the gift, Adesola Christopher Adehuwa, one of the TECNO Phantom X2 winners, conveyed his excitement and unexpected joy. He encouraged PalmPay to continue its commendable work as a fintech platform for Nigerians.

“I feel very excited about winning the TECNO Phantom X2. I have been using PalmPay for two years. The win was unexpected. I want to tell PalmPay to keep up with the good work and continue to bless the poor. I want to tell other users to continue using PalmPay,” Mr. Adehuwa said during the prize presentation.

Chiamaka Princess Uche, who won an iPhone 15, expressed her happiness and pledged to remain a PalmPay user, particularly praising the savings feature with its up to 20% annual interest rate.

“Indeed, PalmPay is truly the best fintech platform. I just recently started using PalmPay about five months ago and I’ve seen a lot of benefits from the interest rates, the network and all. I just want to tell PalmPay to keep it up,” Ms. Uche said. “I want to encourage them to keep participating in other campaigns.”

Throughout the 10-day campaign, users enjoyed a daily interest rate of 16 percent per annum on the trial cash gifted by PalmPay. The accrued interest was credited daily to their savings accounts as spendable money, adding an extra incentive for users to engage with and benefit from the savings initiative.
