MiGO Mobile in collaboration with Covenant University created a Care Center in the University as well as awarded scholarships to chosen students during the Care Center and scholarship awards ceremony hosted at the CUCRID auditorium in the University.
MiGO Mobile’s CEO and Managing Director, Dr. Ademola George Evans, said this was an attempt to give Nigerian students access to top-notch technical research and development and to introduce young people and students to first-hand technology transfer.
At the ceremony, MiGo Mobile announced the N2.2 million scholarship awarded to David Ibiyemi, a 500-level student, and the N10 million scholarship awarded to Ayomide Olaoluwa Ogunmola, a 100-level student, covering full tuition from 100 to 500 level. Additionally, ambassadorial prizes were given to four other students. Osadare Anjolaoluwa Hephzibah (level 100), Owonubi Isaac Oluwasemilore (level 200), Odeleye Ifeoluwa Akorede (level 300), and Anjola Oluwa Aniyikaye Oluwatunmise (level 400) were among them.
He said he was confident in the connection with the university, characterizing it as a partnership based on shared principles and demonstrated ability. Noting that robust support networks and extensive research and development are the foundations of high-quality products, he also emphasized their dedication to post-purchase servicing and upkeep. In Lagos, they presently run roughly seven maintenance offices, and with partnerships hoping to reach 127 locations nationwide.
Evans described their product line and stated that they provide the devices that students require, such as laptops, smartphones, tablets, wearables, and power banks.
Professor Timothy Anake, the university’s vice-chancellor, was thrilled with the opening of a new care facility and called it a significant step forward for the Ota community as well as the university. He said such programs reflect the true role of colleges in community development and that they will benefit students, faculty, staff, and community people.
