As IGP Encourages Nigerians to Take Advantage of its Crime Reportage Feature
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has confirmed an upgrade of the Nigeria Police Force crime reporting mobile application known as ‘NPF Rescue Me,’ which is useful for effectively reporting emergencies, criminal activities, and professional misconducts of police officers for rapid and immediate response by Nigeria Police Force operatives.
The IGP emphasizes that the NPF Rescue Me App, which is a significant improvement, redefines security and personalizes policing by allowing android and iOS users to download the app from various app stores, register with their information, and gain access to a variety of features such as emergency services, crime reporting, navigation, and ambulance services, among others.
The program also has an emergency button that, when touched, alerts operatives at the Nigeria Police National Command and Control Centre, who would quickly dispatch the necessary aid to victims regardless of where they are in the country.
The Inspector-General of Police while encouraging members of the public to download the application into their carry along with gadgets, and input some required information for improved services and their personal safety, reiterates that his administration is poised to explore the use of cutting-edge technology to take combatting crime and responding to emergency situations to an entirely new level.
