The Lagos State Police Command has formally decorated 35 senior officers recently elevated to new ranks, marking another milestone in career progression within the Command.
The decoration ceremony, presided over by the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, saw 30 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), while five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) were elevated to Superintendent of Police (SP).
Addressing the officers, CP Jimoh described the promotion exercise as a strong reflection of the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to professionalism, merit, and motivation within the Nigeria Police Force. He noted that the advancement of the officers was earned through dedication, discipline, and consistent hard work, stressing that excellence does not go unnoticed.
The Commissioner, speaking on behalf of officers and men of the Command, expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for approving the promotions and entrusting the beneficiaries with greater responsibilities. According to him, the exercise would further boost morale and strengthen operational effectiveness across the state.
CP Jimoh reminded the newly promoted officers that elevation in rank comes with increased expectations, accountability, and leadership responsibility. He urged them to uphold the core values of the Force, remain disciplined, and demonstrate even higher levels of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He expressed confidence that the officers would continue to play critical roles in safeguarding lives and property, as well as supporting the Command’s mandate of maintaining law and order across Lagos State.
The Commissioner congratulated the officers and their families on the well-earned promotions and conveyed the goodwill and best wishes of the Inspector-General of Police as they assume their new ranks and responsibilities.
