The Lagos State Police Command has sustained its intensified offensive against criminal elements with the arrest of 147 suspects and the recovery of 250 expanded cartridges, 22 machetes, illicit drugs and other dangerous items during the latest phase of Operation KO S’AYE III.
The operation forms part of the Command’s ongoing strategy to dismantle criminal networks, eliminate notorious hideouts and ensure that no part of Lagos serves as a refuge for criminal elements.
According to the Command, the intelligence-led operation was carried out in the early hours of Sunday, July 19, 2026, at about 5:30 a.m. A joint team of operatives from various formations of the Lagos State Police Command conducted coordinated raids on identified criminal hideouts at Boolar, Super Ile-Epo, and other black spots across the state.
The operation was specifically designed to flush out hoodlums and other criminal elements responsible for threatening the peace and security of residents.
The coordinated raids led to the arrest of 147 suspects, while operatives recovered a cache of dangerous exhibits, including:
- 250 expanded cartridges
- 22 machetes
- Five battle axes
- Two knives
- One pair of scissors
- One lighter
- Assorted charms
- Substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs
The command disclosed that all suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue to establish their individual roles in the alleged criminal activities. Those found culpable will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Commending the officers for their professionalism, courage and commitment, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, reaffirmed the Command’s determination to sustain Operation KO S’AYE III and intensify efforts to rid Lagos of criminal hideouts.
He emphasized that the operation would continue across the state as part of proactive policing measures aimed at denying criminals any safe haven while safeguarding lives and property.
The Commissioner also appealed to residents to remain vigilant and continue supporting the Police with timely and credible information that will aid the identification of criminal hideouts, the arrest of offenders and the enhancement of public safety throughout Lagos State.
