As part of its ongoing staff volunteerism initiative, MTN Nigeria employees this week intensified efforts to improve access to healthcare in underserved communities, delivering a range of medical interventions and health education programmes aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles and enhancing community wellbeing.
The initiative saw MTN staff volunteers actively engage with residents across various locations, providing free medical screenings, diagnostic tests, medications, and healthcare services. The outreach was designed to ensure equitable and accessible healthcare for vulnerable populations while encouraging preventive healthcare practices.
Beyond medical services, the volunteers conducted extensive awareness sessions on disease prevention, proper nutrition, personal hygiene, and proactive health management. Community members also benefited from consultations with healthcare professionals, enabling them to receive expert advice and guidance on managing their health conditions.
In furtherance of its commitment to improving healthcare outcomes, MTN facilitated the distribution of MoMo Health Insurance packages to beneficiaries, helping to expand access to affordable healthcare coverage. The company also donated blood pressure monitors to support ongoing health monitoring within the communities.
The activities form part of MTN’s annual employee volunteer programme, which empowers staff members to contribute meaningfully to social development and community transformation through impactful interventions.
The volunteerism programme will culminate in a closing ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the MTN Plaza Rooftop Event Centre, Ikoyi, Lagos, where stakeholders, volunteers, and beneficiaries will gather to celebrate the successes and impact of this year’s initiative.
The event is expected to highlight the achievements recorded during the programme while reinforcing MTN’s commitment to creating shared value and improving the quality of life in communities across Nigeria.
