MIP 5 Fellows Return for Second Week of Intensive Learning

Participants in the fifth edition of the MTN Media Innovation Programme (MIP 5) resumed classes on Monday, June 22, 2026, for the second week of an intensive learning experience designed to deepen their understanding of Nigeria’s telecommunications industry and emerging digital technologies.

The week’s sessions feature a distinguished lineup of MTN executives who are sharing insights into the operational, technological, and social impact dimensions of the business.

Leading the faculty is MTN Nigeria’s Chief Technology Officer, Yahaya Ibrahim, who is providing Fellows with a comprehensive understanding of mobile network fundamentals, offering valuable insights into the infrastructure and technologies that power modern telecommunications services.

Also engaging with the Fellows is MTN Nigeria’s Chief Marketing Officer, Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka, whose sessions focus on 5G technology, the Internet of Things (IoT), and other emerging innovations shaping the future of connectivity and digital transformation.

In addition, the Executive Director of the MTN Foundation, Odunayo Sanya, is highlighting the Foundation’s impact-driven initiatives, showcasing how strategic investments in education, health, and economic empowerment are transforming lives and communities across Nigeria.

The immersive learning sessions are designed to equip the Fellows with a broader perspective on the telecommunications ecosystem, enabling them to better understand the technologies, innovations, and corporate social responsibility initiatives that drive the industry.

As the programme progresses, participants continue to gain first-hand exposure to industry best practices, leadership insights, and emerging trends, further strengthening their capacity to report and communicate effectively on technology, telecommunications, and digital innovation.

The MTN Media Innovation Programme remains a flagship capacity-building initiative aimed at empowering media professionals with the knowledge and skills required to navigate and report on the rapidly evolving digital economy.
