MTN Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering superior customer experience, following a directive from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on subscriber compensation.
In a statement reflecting its customer-first philosophy, the telecom operator emphasized that its subscribers remain at the core of its operations. The company reiterated its mission to connect Nigerians to the digital world through reliable and high-quality network services.
Responding to the NCC’s directive, MTN Nigeria confirmed that all affected customers in areas where service disruptions were recorded will receive compensation. The compensation will cover the impacted operational periods of November, December, and January, in line with the regulatory framework.
While committing to the compensation process, the company stressed that its broader objective is to prevent such service disruptions by continuously improving network quality and reliability. MTN noted that it is working closely with key stakeholders across the telecom ecosystem to address underlying challenges affecting service delivery.
As part of its renewed strategy, the company is ramping up investments through an aggressive Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) rollout. Key focus areas include accelerated infrastructure upgrades, with significant investment in next-generation equipment to boost network capacity and meet increasing demand for voice and data services.
Additionally, MTN is enhancing network resilience by strengthening infrastructure to withstand environmental factors and third-party disruptions, ensuring more consistent service uptime for customers. The company is also deepening collaboration with tower infrastructure partners to ensure that mast facilities meet global standards required for efficient service delivery.
MTN Nigeria acknowledged that some of the challenges affecting service quality are rooted in broader ecosystem issues, many of which are beyond its direct control. However, the company assured subscribers of its continued collaboration with tower providers, the NCC, and law enforcement agencies to mitigate these challenges.
Reiterating its long-term vision, MTN Nigeria pledged sustained investment in infrastructure and innovation to support Nigeria’s digital economy, ensuring reliable connectivity for individuals and businesses across the country.
