The MTN Foundation, in collaboration with SAIL Innovation Lab and Co-Creation Hub (CcHub), has launched the second phase of the SAIL Teachers Fellowship Programme, inviting public school teachers across Nigeria to apply. The fellowship is designed to equip 5,000 teachers with advanced digital skills, modern teaching techniques, and leadership capacity to transform classrooms into hubs of innovation and creativity.
Applications are open until 19 October 2025, offering educators the opportunity to strengthen their professional expertise in line with global best practices. Beyond the training, fellows will also gain lifetime access to the MTN Skills Academy, a self-paced e-learning platform with free courses on coding, digital marketing, data analytics, and other in-demand skills.
According to Odunayo Sanya, Executive Director of MTN Foundation, empowering teachers remains central to improving Nigeria’s education system. “Teachers are the backbone of our education system. By equipping them with digital competencies and innovative teaching methods, we are directly investing in the future of our youths. This programme is about giving educators the tools they need to not just keep up, but to lead in shaping tomorrow’s innovators and leaders.”
Participants in the fellowship will undergo intensive training in technology integration, modern pedagogy, digital classroom tools, and personal leadership development. Expert facilitators and education specialists will guide sessions, ensuring a mix of practical application, peer learning, and mentorship.
Launched in 2024, the SAIL Teachers Fellowship is part of the MTN Foundation’s broader commitment to sustainable impact in education, health, and economic empowerment.
