Nigeria’s telecom industry has taken a new step toward full digital adoption as T2Mobile, formerly known as 9mobile, rolled out an electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) web application.

The new platform is designed to take away the stress associated with SIM registration by allowing customers to complete the entire process online. With just a smartphone or computer, users can snap a selfie, upload an ID, link their National Identification Number (NIN), and confirm their location. Once these steps are done, a digital confirmation slip is generated instantly.

T2Mobile explained that the innovation is not only faster but also reliable in areas where internet connection may be unstable. The company added that agents and businesses using the service would find it easier to register customers while meeting regulatory requirements.

Industry analysts believe this development could mark a turning point in how Nigerians access telecom services, as it aligns with global trends in digital identity management.
