Kwara State University (KWASU) has made history as the first tertiary institution in Nigeria to benefit from Globacom’s new digital learning and communication services, Gloshare and a Mobile Community Plan launched recently on the university’s Malete campus.

The initiative, championed by Globacom’s Enterprise Unit, aims to redefine how students connect, access academic content, and engage within a shared digital ecosystem.

Mr. Adewale Adiatu, Globacom’s Enterprise Southwest Regional Head, explained that Gloshare enables students to access the KWASU portal and download educational materials at no data cost, enhancing learning efficiency and affordability. The Mobile Community Plan, he added, ensures that both students and staff remain digitally connected, fostering smoother academic and social interaction on campus.

Mr. Adeniyi Odejobi, Enterprise National Vertical Head, revealed that several telecom sites have already been installed across the KWASU campus, with more underway to guarantee optimal performance of the new services.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shaykh Luqman Jimoh, hailed the development as both “historic and forward-thinking,” commending Globacom for introducing digital solutions that reflect the innovative energy of KWASU’s student body. He described the services as “homegrown, tailored, and transformational.”

Student Union Government President, Mallam Abdulafeez Babatunde Kewulere, expressed deep appreciation to Globacom for choosing KWASU to pioneer the launch. “It’s a strong message of inclusion and empowerment for Nigerian students,” he said, urging his peers to make the most of the tools provided.

With this rollout, Globacom continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing digital education and connectivity in Nigeria, especially among the youth.
