Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, a non-denominational Christian ministry, has inaugurated the first-ever combined Old People’s Home and Orphanage in Imo State, Nigeria. Named The Seraphic Home, the facility is situated in Mgbirichi, Ohaji Egbema, near the state capital, Owerri.
The official commissioning was carried out by Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, who praised the initiative as a major milestone in supporting the elderly, vulnerable, and underprivileged within the state. He commended the founder and Spiritual Director of Zion Ministry, Evangelist Chukwuebuka Obi, for investing in such a meaningful project and choosing Imo as the location.
Governor Uzodimma acknowledged that Evangelist Obi’s decision to expand the ministry’s impact in the state aligns with the state government’s vision of social development. He recalled allocating land for the ministry’s headquarters in Ngor Okpala, stating that the expansion reflects the foresight of that move.
In his remarks, Evangelist Obi explained that The Seraphic Home was established to care for orphans and elderly individuals who lack family support. The facility will offer residents free accommodation, meals, clothing, education, and medical care in a supportive and nurturing environment.
“This home was designed to serve as a sanctuary for those who have no one to care for them,” he said. “It is not just a place to stay but a community of compassion, where the dignity and well-being of every resident is a priority.”
Evangelist Obi also revealed plans to replicate similar projects across Nigeria, stressing that the initiative would foster community involvement, skill development, and capacity-building among staff and volunteers.
The Seraphic Home operates under the Zion Ministry’s Seraphic Home Foundation, a non-profit arm of the ministry dedicated to humanitarian efforts. The foundation already supports over 60 students with scholarships annually and assists in settling medical bills for patients facing serious health challenges.
This latest project strengthens Zion Ministry’s mission to positively impact lives and promote the welfare of the most vulnerable in society.
