The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) will convene the inaugural Startup Consultative Forum on Monday, 28 April 2025, in Abuja.
This event marks a key milestone in the implementation of the Nigeria Startup Act (NSA), which was signed into law in October 2022. Designed to foster a vibrant startup ecosystem, the Act offers a supportive legal framework that includes tax incentives, regulatory ease, and access to a dedicated seed fund for qualified startups.
But this forum isn’t just another tech event. It represents a shift in how policy is shaped in Nigeria’s digital economy. NITDA is bringing startup founders, angel investors, venture capitalists, and support organisations into direct dialogue with government stakeholders. The aim is to create a collaborative space where policies are shaped by those at the heart of the innovation economy.
Crucially, the forum will also serve as the platform to elect members to the National Council for Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship — the apex advisory body created by the Startup Act. This council is poised to wield significant influence on funding direction, policy execution, and strategic growth initiatives for startups across the country.
What sets this meeting apart is its emphasis on democratic participation. Every attendee will have a voice — and a vote — in choosing who represents the ecosystem at the highest levels of policymaking. NITDA is calling on all labelled startups, verified innovation hubs, VCs, angels, and other key players to take part and help steer the future of tech in Nigeria.
