The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has commenced the IgniteHer Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Abuja. This five-day initiative is designed to equip female entrepreneurs with critical business skills, digital competencies, and financial strategies to enhance their ventures and drive economic growth.
At the launch, NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa, CCIE, represented by Special Adviser on Strategic Partnerships, Mrs. Iklima Musa, underscored the importance of women’s economic empowerment in fostering innovation and sustainable development. He highlighted the program’s role in bridging the gender gap in entrepreneurship, particularly in digital literacy and access to resources.
“As the world marks International Women’s Day, it is a powerful reminder that empowering women goes beyond fairness—it is about unlocking the full potential of society,” Inuwa stated. He emphasized that women-led enterprises play a vital role in job creation, economic expansion, and technological advancement.
He also commended JICA for its unwavering commitment to women’s development in Nigeria, noting that partnerships like this drive meaningful change. He expressed appreciation to the facilitators and mentors contributing to the program and encouraged participants to take full advantage of the training.
JICA’s representative, Nao Fuwa, described the collaboration as a significant opportunity for Nigerian women, urging attendees to be fully engaged and interactive throughout the bootcamp. “This is more than just an event—it is a chance to shape your future and contribute to Nigeria’s economic transformation,” he said.
The IgniteHer Bootcamp seeks to eliminate barriers that hinder female entrepreneurs and create an inclusive digital economy. By equipping participants with practical knowledge and a strong support network, the initiative aims to foster long-term economic resilience and innovation among women in business.
