The Kwara State Government has called on all public sector workers to promptly register with the Kwara State Residents’ Registration Agency (KWSRRA) to secure their November salaries and bonuses.
In an official statement released on Monday in Ilorin, the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, emphasized that any state employee who fails to complete the registration will not receive salary payments or bonuses for November. The statement, signed by the ministry’s Press Secretary, Babatunde Abdulrasheed, noted that the registration process commenced in July.
Dr. Nuru explained that KWSRRA is legally mandated to compile data on all state residents, assigning each individual a unique identification number. This initiative aims to enhance planning, resource allocation, service delivery, and public safety across Kwara.
“In line with our commitment to accountability and transparency in resource management, we have directed all public sector employees, including those in the 16 local government areas, to complete their registration,” Nuru stated. “From November onwards, any worker who has not registered with KWSRRA will forfeit their salary and bonuses.”
The commissioner highlighted that the registration process will enable Kwara State to develop a reliable database, which is essential for effective payroll management and overall service delivery. “A comprehensive and accurate database empowers us to make informed decisions, allocate resources more effectively, and ensure fair and accurate compensation for all eligible employees,” she added.
Dr. Nuru urged employees who have not yet registered to promptly visit the nearest KWSRRA center and complete the process. “By adhering to this directive, Kwara State is building a more efficient, transparent, and equitable system that benefits both our workforce and residents,” she concluded.
The state’s push to ensure all public workers are registered underscores Kwara’s focus on improving governance and fostering public trust through accurate and efficient data management.
