Glo-sponsored African Voices Playmakers Showcases Stonebwoy as Special Guest in Saturday Episode

The African Voices Playmakers, sponsored by Globacom and aired on CNN International, will feature Ghana’s Afropop and reggae sensation, Stonebwoy, as a special guest this Saturday. He will delve into the inspiring journey behind his musical triumphs at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, with additional broadcasts scheduled for 11 a.m. on the same day. The episode will also be rebroadcast on Sunday at 3:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., as well as on Monday at 3:00 a.m. Furthermore, it will be repeated the following Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., on Sunday at 4:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and on Monday at 4:00 a.m.

Born Livingstone Etse Satekla in Ashaiman, in the Greater Accra region of Ghana, on March 5, 1988, Stonebwoy’s musical journey commenced during his primary school years, where his lyrical and scriptwriting prowess was unearthed at a young age. Since then, he has remained dedicated to crafting both his own compositions and those of artists who have influenced him within the Ghanaian music industry.

His latest album, “5th Dimension,” has garnered significant attention in the country, underscoring Stonebwoy’s remarkable talent and versatility in the realms of Afropop, dancehall, and reggae. Serving as the CEO of Burniton Music Group, he has been lauded and rewarded for his musical achievements over the years.

In 2015, Stonebwoy clinched the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and the Africa category at the BET Awards. Additionally, he earned two Billboard plaques and the Golden Club plaque from Boomplay for surpassing 100 million streams on the platform.

Recognized as one of the 50 young CEOs by YCEO and Avance Media in 2019, Stonebwoy was celebrated for his commitment to addressing societal challenges through innovative solutions. Moreover, in 2021, three albums featuring Stonebwoy received nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards. Furthermore, in 2022, Vodafone Ghana honored him for leveraging his creativity and music to raise awareness about environmental and sustainability issues.
