Ministry of Police Affairs Honors Staff with Bus and Decorates Chief Security Officer

The Ministry of Police Affairs recently presented a 15-seater Toyota Hiace bus to the Union of the Ministry and decorated the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the Minister in a ceremony at the Ministry Headquarters in Abuja.

The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, representing the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, and State Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, led the presentation of the bus to the Union. The gesture aimed to acknowledge the dedication and positive contributions of the Ministry’s staff, with the Permanent Secretary highlighting the staff’s commitment and representation in various activities, including sports.

Led by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, on behalf of Minister Senator Ibrahim Gaidam and State Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, the presentation of the bus to the Union symbolized acknowledgment of the staff’s hard work and positive representation of the Ministry across various activities, including sports. The Chairman of the Joint Union, Comrade Archibong Okon, graciously accepted the bus, expressing gratitude and pledging continued dedication to effective service delivery.

Meanwhile, Minister Gaidam commended his trusted Chief Security Officer, Superintendent of Police Abdul Gafar Bichi, for his unwavering commitment, honesty, and hard work over the years.

“He has been working with me for the past fifteen years till date and I find him to be a promising officer, hardworking and honest in his activities so far”. The Minister further stressed.

During the decoration ceremony, Minister of State Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim and Chairman of Police Service Commission Dr. Solomon Arase emphasized the importance of dedication and patriotism in service. SP Bichi’s promotion from Deputy Superintendent to Superintendent of Police was recognized as a testament to his exemplary service record and commitment to duty.

SP Abdul Gafar Bichi was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on June 25, 1994, as a Cadet Inspector and is currently Chief Security Officer to the Minister of Police Affairs and was promoted from Deputy Superintendent to Superintendent of Police (SP) on the 1st November 2023.

The event showcased the Ministry’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence and emphasizing the value of hard work and dedication in upholding the principles of service and patriotism within the law enforcement sector.
