9mobile, one of Nigeria’s leading telecommunications companies known for its customer-centric approach, collaborated with ALX Nigeria to mark International Women’s Day (IWD) 2024 with a powerful initiative aimed at bolstering women entrepreneurs. Through the “Pitch Your Business” competition, the partnership sought to provide a dedicated platform for Nigerian women to showcase their entrepreneurial talents and realize their business ambitions.
The IWD edition of the “Pitch Your Business” event witnessed an overwhelming response, attracting more than 300 women entrepreneurs eager to seize the opportunity to propel their businesses forward. This event underscored 9mobile’s steadfast commitment to investing in and empowering women, perfectly resonating with the overarching theme of IWD 2024.

From a pool of exceptional candidates drawn from various ALX programs and hubs, nine outstanding women finalists were meticulously selected to present their innovative business ideas and demonstrate their entrepreneurial acumen before a distinguished panel of judges.
Among the finalists were Thomas Omotayo Esther with Ethom Digital, Akande Olamide Esther with Lamzy Tom Brown, Helen Arowobusoye with Aroma Aura Candles, Oladele Christiana Abosede with Edumize, Marychein Samuel with Tailor4Me, Emeruem Njideka with Cloud Infinity, Winifred Nnamdi with Winka Beads Concepts, Adediran Irebamilaye with Paschaline’s Consult, and Chisom Ukachukwu with EduBreed.

After an intense and inspiring competition, Chisom Ukachukwu, the founder of EduBreed, emerged triumphant as the winner, securing a grant of N500,000. Adediran Irebamilaye of Pascaline’s Consulting Firm and Winifred Nnamdi of Wimka Beads Concepts claimed the first and second runner-up positions, respectively, and were awarded N300,000 and N200,000 in prize money, affirming their exceptional entrepreneurial potential and dedication to innovation.
Speaking at the event, the Public Relations Lead at 9mobile, Chineze Amanfo, said: “At 9mobile, we believe in the power of diversity and inclusion. By empowering female entrepreneurs, we are not only driving economic growth but also creating a more equitable society where everyone can thrive. These finalists demonstrated exceptional determination and ingenuity in their respective fields, embodying the spirit of female entrepreneurship in Nigeria.”
