John Okafor, widely known as Mr Ibu, a celebrated figure in Nigeria’s film industry, has tragically passed away after a prolonged struggle with blood clotting in his leg. The veteran actor breathed his last in a hospital located in Lagos State on Saturday, March 2.

Family sources reveal that Mr Ibu had been grappling with severe health challenges, necessitating life support following a recent surgical procedure. Reports indicate that his blood pressure surged to alarming levels, exceeding 200, subsequent to the surgery. Despite concerted efforts to stabilize his condition, he succumbed to his illness.

Mr Ibu’s health ordeal led to the amputation of his leg in November 2023, underscoring the severity of his medical struggles. Survived by his wife and children, the esteemed actor leaves behind a legacy marked by his unparalleled talent for delivering comedic performances on the silver screen.
