Last week, the Caribbean Island of Grenada witnessed an extravaganza of glitz, glamour, and luxury as Aisha Achimugu, the renowned Abuja-based businesswoman, celebrated her 50th birthday in style.

Aisha, who reached the milestone on January 22, spared no expense in commemorating her golden jubilee. The seven-day affair unfolded against the picturesque backdrop of Calivigny Island and Silversand, a lavish resort nestled along the sands of Grand Anse Beach in Grenada.

The festivities commenced on January 16 with a star-studded guest list that included luminaries from the Nigerian entertainment industry and esteemed personalities, including a notable governor.

The first day welcomed guests as they arrived, settled into their accommodations, and eased into the rhythm of the event. Subsequent days overflowed with a cornucopia of activities, from leisurely exploration and mingling to high-energy pursuits like kayaking, swimming, and even a treasure hunt.

Day four brought a cultural immersion with guests donning vibrant African attire for drum dances and special performances. As night fell, a bonfire illuminated the island, setting the stage for an evening of warmth and musical revelry.

The following days brimmed with live performances, sumptuous cocktails, and retro disco parties, ensuring there was never a dull moment. Excursions around the island offered guests a chance to immerse themselves in Grenada’s natural beauty and vibrant culture.

The pinnacle of the celebration culminated on January 23 with an opulent all-white breakfast and a luxurious dinner, themed ‘glitz and glam,’ as guests bid farewell to Grenada, their hearts brimming with cherished memories.

Reports indicate that Aisha Achimugu spared no expense, shelling out nearly $1 million (over N1 billion) to rent the entire island for the week-long extravaganza. The exclusivity of the event extended to the choice of accommodations, with the Silversands Resort commanding a price tag starting from $1,060 (N1,378,000) per person per night.

Calvigny Island, the crown jewel of the affair, commanded a staggering cost of $30,000 (over N39 million) per night for the entire island, with prices fluctuating between $30,000 to $165,000 depending on the season.

Not content with mere extravagance, Aisha Achimugu curated an immersive experience for her guests, complete with a dedicated website, ‘aishaachimugu50th.com,’ offering logistical details ranging from visa arrangements to travel itineraries and standby chauffeurs.

As the sun sets on Grenada, Aisha’s celebrations are far from over. She is set to host another grand birthday bash at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja on January 26 at 6 pm, followed by a dinner party at the International Conference Centre the next day, commencing at 8:30 pm. The opulence of Aisha Achimugu’s 50th birthday celebration serves as a testament to her stature as a connoisseur of luxury and a maestro of extravagant affairs.
