In commemoration of outstanding achievements, commitment to service, and steadfast loyalty, Globacom, the digital solutions provider, hosted a spectacular event on Saturday night at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos. The grand occasion marked a jubilant recognition of the company’s devoted employees at a high-energy celebration themed “Twenty and Unlimited.”
This opulent gathering, an integral part of Globacom’s 20th Anniversary festivities, saw 89 esteemed staff members, who have been with the company since its inception in 2003, being honored with substantial monetary rewards. The company, acknowledging their service, bestowed each of these long-serving individuals with generous sums, totaling millions of Naira.
Addressing the audience at the event, Mrs. Bella Disu, the Executive Vice Chairman of Globacom, conveyed the Board and Management’s profound satisfaction with the awardees. She expressed gratitude for their significant contributions to the company’s growth over the past two decades. Mrs. Disu emphasized that the celebration aimed not only to recognize their past accomplishments but also to inspire and motivate them to continue pursuing excellence in their future endeavors. The event truly captured the essence of acknowledging and encouraging the relentless dedication of these employees towards the greater success of Globacom.
“This year, I want us to move forward with even greater zeal and energy than we had in our first two decades, and I want you know without a doubt that your work is the foundation and key to our future. This year, we are committed not only to our company’s growth but to your individual success. We will work tirelessly to increase value for you, our staff, all our subscribers and to all stakeholders. The celebration united staff members from across the nation, all adorned in monochrome fashion reflecting Glo’s distinctive colors. Dressed in Glo color-compliant attire, the event garnered a distinguished guest list, including the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke; Ovation Publisher, Dele Momodu; renowned Nollywood stars Ego Boyo, Ini Edo, Juliet Ibrahim, and Bolanle Ninalowo; along with the comedic flair of Broda Shaggi and the fashion icon, Mai Atafo.
The night pulsated with joy as Wande Coal and Glo ambassadors Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka and Kizz Daniel, also known as Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, filled the air with captivating vibes, keeping Glo’s enthusiastic staff dancing throughout the evening.
Adding to the excitement, the event featured various competitions for the staff, with winners earning substantial cash rewards from the company. In the Mr. Glo competition, Ifoghale Ashaka claimed the top spot, while Hakeem Obayomi and Olalekan Agbaje secured first and second runners-up. Mr. Glo received a prize of N2 million, while Hakeem and Olalekan took home N1 million and N750,000 respectively. Miss Gift Okafor was crowned Miss Glo, winning N2 million, with Favour Akinbayo and Faith Chika Obi as first and second runners-up, receiving N1 million and N750,000 respectively. The Best Dressed male and female each received N500,000.
The festivities continued with Tegha Mobaghan winning N500,000 in the female category of the dancing competition, and Abiola Agunbiade securing the same prize in the male category. Chukwudi Okorie and Otesanya Adetayo emerged victorious in the singing competition, each winning N500,000. The food “quaffing” competition awarded N500,000 to winners in both the male and female categories. Additionally, 20 early birds and 50 Midnight Owls were rewarded with N250,000 each for being the first to arrive and last to leave the party, respectively. The evening also featured a surprise award of N250,000, drawing excitement as 50 fortunate staff members were presented with unexpected prizes.
