Acting IGP Olukayode Egbetokun Meets National Security Adviser to Strengthen Internal Security Efforts

In a meeting that held on the 11th of July, 2023, the Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, paid a courtesy visit to the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, at the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the progress made so far in the internal security system of the country. Accompanying the IGP were other high-ranking officials, including the DIG Operations, Adeleke Adeyinka Bode, mni; DIG Training and Development, Bala Ciroma; AIG Force Intelligence Bureau, Abdulyari Lafia; the Force Secretary, AIG Habu Sani; the Director, National Cyber Crime Centre, DCP Uche Ifeanyi; and the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

During the meeting, the National Security Adviser expressed his satisfaction with the efforts made by the Acting IGP in reforming and repositioning the Nigerian policing system. He commended the IGP for starting off on the right foot and urged him to prioritize collaborative efforts with other security agencies to achieve the administration’s goal of enhanced security. The National Security Adviser assured the Acting IGP of his full support in realizing better policing and improved security for all Nigerians.

In response, the Acting IGP congratulated the National Security Adviser on his well-deserved appointment. He acknowledged the NSA’s commitment to ensuring national security stability and growth through inter-agency cooperation and comprehensive safety measures. The IGP expressed his determination to work closely with the NSA and other security agencies to consolidate on the progress made so far and achieve the desired security outcomes for the nation.
