In an exciting achievement, Hilda Effiong Bassey, widely known as Hilda Baci, has officially been recognized by Guinness World Records as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual). The announcement was made on Tuesday via the official Guinness World Records website, stating that Hilda Baci successfully completed a remarkable cooking marathon with a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.

The 26-year-old Nigerian chef embarked on her culinary feat on Thursday, May 11, and persevered through the challenge until Monday, May 15. Throughout her impressive four-day kitchen endeavor, Hilda cooked over 100 pots of food, showcasing her culinary skills and determination.

Initially, Hilda had set out to establish a new record of 100 hours. However, due to a minor oversight, nearly seven hours were deducted from her final total. Hilda mistakenly included extra minutes during one of her rest breaks early in the attempt, leading to the adjustment in her final time.

This extraordinary accomplishment surpassed the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes, set by Lata Tondon from India in 2019. Hilda Baci’s dedication, talent, and unwavering commitment have solidified her place in history as the new reigning champion of the longest cooking marathon.

The record-breaking feat by Hilda Baci has captivated the attention of the culinary world, inspiring aspiring chefs and food enthusiasts worldwide. Her achievement not only demonstrates her exceptional endurance and passion for cooking but also showcases the diverse talents emerging from Nigeria’s culinary scene.

Guinness World Records congratulates Hilda Baci on her outstanding accomplishment and welcomes her into the exclusive circle of record holders who have pushed the boundaries of human capability in their respective fields.
