MainOne, West Africa’s premier provider of connectivity and data centre solutions, announced the expansion of its fibre-optic network infrastructure to the Lagos Free Zone in Lekki.
The Lagos Free Zone, Nigeria’s first private free zone, intends to be the preferred investment destination in Nigeria by providing best-in-class infrastructure, facilities, and services.
With President Buhari’s recent visit to the Zone to unveil the largest fertilizer plant in Africa and his commendation of infrastructure already deployed inside the axis, MainOne is leading in the deployment of telecom infrastructure to support the zone’s objectives.
Businesses throughout the Zone will now have direct, dependable, and secure network connectivity as well as access to data centre services, allowing for enhanced productivity and network speeds that match world-class standards.

The zone, which is located in Lagos State, has an area of 850 hectares and is fully equipped with world-class infrastructure, a single clearance window for ease of doing business, and is uniquely integrated with the Lekki Port, providing access to regional and international markets.
With a focus on ease of doing business, the Lagos Free Zone will house over 150 industries, resulting in the creation of over 26,000 jobs.
Globally renowned brands such as Kellogg’s, Dano Milk, Colgate, BASF, and Power Oil have already established themselves in the zone.
Nikhil Khandelwal, Chief Technical Officer, Lagos Free Zone, stated at the launch that the partnership with MainOne for the provision of a high-speed fibre optic network at LFZ will provide an efficient technological backbone for spearheading our drive to deliver enhanced ease of doing business to our tenants.
Khandelwal went on to say that the LFZ, with its reliable access to electricity and broadband network, is a tempting destination for host technology manufacturers and data centre operators.
