Abbey Mortgage Bank blazed a new trail in the financial services industry with the release of its data-friendly mobile banking application. The App launch, which took place today at the company’s head office in Victoria Island, Lagos, will give users fast access to their accounts as well as the opportunity to perform transactions without the need for in-person banking. Over the years, the bank has been at the forefront of developing new solutions to help its customers accomplish their strategic goals.

“The AbbeyMobile App was developed based on the need to provide a more seamless and convenient banking experience for both existing and new customers, simply by downloading and registering securely on the AbbeyMobile App,” said Lolita Ejiofor, GM, Information Technology & Platforms, speaking to press at the launch. The app would ensure that a better experience for day-to-day banking services, such as opening an account to save towards their equity for a mortgage (“Save to Own”), is available without the need to visit a branch. It also represents a significant step forward in the democratization of mortgage banking in Nigeria, allowing Nigerians in all geographical areas unprecedented access to property ownership. The rise in the number of internet users improved access to web-based and online services, and the growing need to simplify house ownership are all factors that have contributed to the development of the Mortgage Mobile App.
Abbey Mortgage is now able to link more Nigerians to rapid and professional guidance on their route to homeownership, with over 108 million internet users in Nigeria and an estimated 120 million mobile phone subscribers.
