At the heart of breaking stereotypes and challenging the notion that age is a limiting factor, Mr. Sobowale Babatunde has emerged triumphant as the top graduate of the 2021/2022 academic session at the Distance Learning Institute (DLI), University of Lagos. At 61 years old, Mr. Sobowale defies expectations and becomes a beacon of inspiration for students of all ages, showcasing exceptional academic prowess.

Originating from Ogun State, Mr. Sobowale embarked on his journey to academic excellence in 2016 by enrolling in the Department of Management Sciences (B.Sc. Business Administration program) at the Institute. Throughout his academic tenure, he displayed unwavering dedication and a hunger for knowledge, consistently achieving an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.84. This outstanding performance not only underscores his intellectual capabilities but also sends a powerful message of hope to those who may have doubted their potential due to age or other perceived limitations.

Mr. Sobowale’s academic accomplishments extend beyond his current degree. Holding qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management, a Higher Diploma in Business Management Technology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management, he epitomizes a highly accomplished individual with a rich blend of knowledge and experience, further enhanced by his professional background in public service.
