In a significant step toward fostering cross-border collaboration in the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Angola’s SME agency, the National Institute of Support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM), recently paid a courtesy visit to the head office of MTN Nigeria in Lagos to understudy the innovative mySMEville platform.
The visit focused on understanding the operational model and impact of mySMEville, a strategic partnership initiative between MTN Nigeria and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) aimed at empowering Nigeria’s MSMEs.
Speaking during the engagement, officials highlighted that mySMEville was created to bridge critical gaps within the MSME ecosystem by connecting entrepreneurs and small businesses to funding opportunities, digital tools, infrastructure support, business resources, and market access opportunities. Since its launch late last year, the platform has continued to witness steady growth and increasing adoption among Nigerian small businesses.
The courtesy visit by INAPEM underscores the growing recognition of the platform’s impact beyond Nigeria’s borders. The Angolan delegation expressed keen interest in exploring how the mySMEville model can be adapted and implemented within Angola to strengthen support systems for entrepreneurs and small businesses in the country.
The engagement also reflects the importance of regional partnerships and knowledge-sharing initiatives in driving sustainable economic growth across Africa, especially within the MSME sector, which remains a major contributor to employment generation and economic development.
The meeting provided an avenue for both organizations to exchange ideas on digital transformation, enterprise development, and strategies for enhancing SME competitiveness through innovation and collaboration.
