Strong Q1 2026 Performance: Telecom Giant Boosts Investment To Strengthen Network For 89.5 Million Subscribers

leading telecommunications giant, MTN, has announced the release of its financial results for the first quarter of 2026, ending March 31, showing a robust start to the year driven by significant infrastructure investment and a continued focus on service quality.

The company disclosed that its capital expenditure surged by 92.89 per cent, rising sharply from ₦202.4 billion recorded in Q1 2025 to ₦390.3 billion in Q1 2026. This substantial increase underscores its strategic commitment to strengthening network infrastructure and enhancing customer experience across its operations.

According to the company, the investment is aimed at improving capacity, expanding coverage, and ensuring consistent network reliability, which remains critical to supporting everyday digital activities.
