The Lagos State Police Command has invited Pastor Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, to appear before the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, on Monday, January 5, 2026, by 10:00 a.m.
The invitation follows a series of allegations levelled against the cleric, including multiple counts of rape, other sexual offences, and conduct considered capable of causing a breach of public peace and a breakdown of law and order within the state.
According to the Command, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of SCID to carry out a comprehensive and diligent investigation into the allegations. Pastor Okafor has reportedly been formally served an invitation letter through his legal counsel and is expected to present himself and cooperate fully with investigators at Panti.
In addition, CP Jimoh has ordered immediate and full security protection for the alleged victims, encouraging them to come forward without fear to report their cases at the SCID, where investigations have already commenced.
The Police Command has given firm assurances that the identities of all victims will be treated with strict confidentiality and adequately protected. Individuals who may have been affected by the alleged actions, as well as members of the public with credible information or evidence relevant to the case, have been urged to assist the investigation. Such persons may contact the Police Public Relations Department at the Lagos State Police Command or report directly to the SCID.
Reiterating the Command’s stance, the Commissioner of Police assured the public that the investigation would be conducted professionally, transparently, and without bias, in line with the provisions of the law. He emphasized that no individual is above the law and that allegations of criminal conduct will be thoroughly examined regardless of the status or influence of those involved.
The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public peace, safety, and order, stressing that justice will be pursued diligently and without sentiment as the investigation progresses.
