The 2025 Ojude Oba Festival kicked off in grand style as telecommunications giant Globacom hosted a spectacular cultural evening titled “Evening with Glo”, marking two decades of the company’s consistent sponsorship of the iconic celebration. The event featured legendary Juju musician Evangelist Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi and Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1), creating an unforgettable night of music and heritage celebration.
Held at the Conference Hall in Ijebu-Ode, the event was a lively blend of live musical performances, delectable cuisine, and rib-cracking comedy delivered by renowned comedians Gbenga Adeyinka, Bash, and Kiekie. The hall was packed with guests who enthusiastically sang and danced to Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey’s classic hits, which still hold deep cultural and philosophical resonance.
In a goodwill message, Globacom stated that the evening was organized as a token of appreciation to the Ijebu community for their unwavering support over the past two decades.
“We decided to bring together great sons and daughters of Ijebuland to celebrate our shared heritage and indulge in the melodious rhythms that resonate deeply throughout Yorubaland,” the company remarked.
On the selection of musical guests, Globacom explained:

The event attracted numerous dignitaries and cultural leaders, including Chief Mrs. Olukemi Adetona, Olori of the Awujale of Ijebuland; Professor Fassy Yusuff, Coordinator of the Ojude Oba Festival Planning Committee; and Chief Mrs. Bisi Osibogun, Iyalode of Ijebuland and a key committee member.
