Leading tech career accelerator ALX, dedicated to empowering Africa’s next generation of innovators, recently hosted a Parents Forum in Lagos to showcase its transformative ALX Pathway Programme. This initiative aims to connect young Africans with prestigious global universities, providing them with essential tools, mentorship, and networks to ensure their academic and professional success.

The forum, aimed at building trust with key stakeholders, particularly parents, showcased the programme’s unique benefits, including access to peer communities, professional networking events, personalized guidance for university applications, and mentorship opportunities.
A highlight of the event was a live session with a representative from the African Leadership University (ALU), one of the programme’s distinguished partners, as well as testimonials from current participants who shared their inspiring journeys.

Speaking at the event, Ruby Igwe, Country General Manager for ALX Nigeria, underscored the programme’s vision to unlock global opportunities for African talent. “The ALX Pathway Programme is designed to bridge the gap between young Africans’ aspirations and global opportunities,” Igwe said. “By providing critical resources and networks, we aim to empower the next generation of leaders who will shape Africa’s future on the global stage.”

Seun Babajide-Duroshola, Country Growth Manager for ALX Nigeria, highlighted the importance of engaging parents in their children’s academic and career pathways. “Parents are essential partners in this process,” Babajide-Duroshola noted. “This forum allowed us to address their concerns directly, showcase the programme’s transformative potential, and build a foundation of support for participants as they embark on this life-changing journey.”

The forum also featured an interactive Q&A session, where parents and media representatives received in-depth explanations about the programme’s application process, structure, and expected impact.
