The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, has called on National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving as champions of the Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL) Initiative to intensify their efforts in promoting digital skills and awareness across Nigeria.
Inuwa, speaking at a recent gathering, emphasized the importance of the DL4ALL initiative as a critical part of NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0). The program seeks to provide underserved communities with essential digital knowledge, empowering individuals to access opportunities in an increasingly technology-driven world.
“You are the ambassadors of our shared vision to empower every Nigerian with the knowledge needed to navigate and excel in the digital economy. Your dedication and resilience will ensure that no Nigerian is left behind as we build a technologically driven, globally competitive economy,” Inuwa said.
He reminded the champions of their vital role in achieving NITDA’s digital literacy targets of 70% by 2027 and 95% by 2030, goals that align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on innovation-driven economic growth, youth empowerment, and national development.
Inuwa noted that the initiative represents an investment in the country’s collective future, aiming to create a digitally skilled workforce that can transform the economy and position Nigeria as a leader in the global knowledge economy. He encouraged the champions to take their roles seriously, as their efforts would empower millions of Nigerians to unlock their potential, embrace innovation, and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress.
The DL4ALL initiative brings together key stakeholders, including NITDA, the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, the NYSC, and other partners, to promote digital inclusion. Participants received extensive training, equipping them with the tools and skills needed to educate communities about financial inclusion, leveraging e-commerce for small businesses, and understanding cybersecurity essentials.
As the champions prepare to be deployed across the country, their commitment is expected to create a ripple effect, transforming lives and fostering digital inclusion nationwide. Inuwa reaffirmed NITDA’s commitment to ensuring no citizen is left behind in the drive toward a digitally inclusive Nigeria.
