The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has reaffirmed its dedication to propelling Nigeria into a leading position in the global digital economy through innovation and inclusivity. This message was delivered at the 3rd TeXcellence Conference, themed “Revealing Tomorrow,” held at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
During the conference, NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa CCIE, represented by Dr. Aristotle Onumo, Director of Stakeholder Management and Partnerships, emphasized the agency’s focus on fostering national digital growth. He detailed NITDA’s digital roadmap, the Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP) 2.0, which will guide the country’s digital initiatives from 2024 to 2027.
In his keynote address titled “Policy to Implementation: Collaborative Approach to National Digital Growth,” Inuwa outlined the eight strategic pillars of the SRAP 2.0, which aim to address national socio-economic challenges through technology. He highlighted NITDA’s vision of a digitally empowered Nigeria, emphasizing that the roadmap was designed to promote inclusive economic development and bridge the digital divide.
“We have established a digital social contract with the Nigerian community, encapsulated in our SRAP 2.0, to foster economic empowerment and transformation,” Inuwa said. He further explained that NITDA’s strategy is aligned with the federal government’s objectives, ensuring that the agency remains agile and forward-looking in addressing the evolving digital landscape.
Inuwa also stressed the importance of adaptability in the face of global technological advancements and highlighted the agency’s approach to closing digital gaps, particularly in gender inequality and accessibility for people with special needs. “Our goal is to position Nigeria as a leader in digital literacy and tech talent development, enabling our citizens to thrive in the digital age,” he added.
The conference, hosted by CWG Plc, brought together technology experts, business leaders, and innovators to discuss emerging trends and solutions in the tech industry. NITDA’s call for partnerships and collaboration was a key theme, as Inuwa urged stakeholders to support indigenous technology events and contribute to shaping Nigeria’s digital future.

Through its SRAP 2.0 and a strong focus on digital inclusiveness, NITDA aims to solidify Nigeria’s position as a leader in the digital world, ensuring the country is well-equipped for the opportunities and challenges of the digital era.
