Tijani and Maida Forge Partnership with Nokia to Advance Nigeria’s Digital Capacity Vision

Earlier this week, the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijanni, spearheaded a significant development. He, alongside Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), inked a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nokia Solutions and Networks Nigeria. The objective? To initiate a comprehensive training program aimed at empowering young Nigerians with the latest insights into 4G/5G radio and transmission technologies. This initiative will unfold at the Nigerian Communications Commission’s Digital Parks.

Nokia Nigeria is poised to establish a state-of-the-art 5G/4G test lab, leveraging its cutting-edge radio and transmission technologies. This collaboration signals a decisive step forward in bolstering the skills and competencies of Nigerians, preparing them for the dynamic landscape of the telecommunications industry.

Aligned with the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy’s mission to promote digital literacy and cultivate a reservoir of technical talent nationwide, Nokia Nigeria will also introduce an Entrepreneur Learning Programme. This program will offer top-notch vocational training to 200 Nigerian students drawn from all six geopolitical zones of the country.
