FBNQuest, the investment banking and asset management arm of FBN Holdings Plc, recently organized a financial literacy and enlightenment session in commemoration of the 2024 Global Money Week as part of its Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (CR&S) activities. The theme for this year’s Global Money Week was “Protect Your Money, Secure Your Future,” aiming to instill a savings culture, investment awareness, and financial discipline among younger generations.

As part of their CR&S efforts, FBNQuest employees volunteered to engage with students, imparting insights and techniques on the significance of cultivating a savings culture from the funds they receive from family members. This initiative aims to equip them with the readiness to seize investment opportunities, fostering a proactive approach towards future financial growth and prosperity.

During the session, Olamide Adeosun, Chief Financial Officer at FBNQuest Merchant Bank, stressed the importance of self-discipline, commitment, and deliberate planning for future financial security. She emphasized the necessity for young adults to possess a solid understanding of savings and investments to effectively manage and grow their finances for future needs.

The organization’s commitment to enhancing the financial literacy of Nigerian children was evident through its support of Global Money Week. Through employee volunteering, FBNQuest reached over 400 students across schools in Lagos, Abuja, and Rivers states. Representatives provided insights on setting clear financial goals and communicated these concepts using simple, relatable illustrations, making it easier for students to grasp the importance of saving for their future aspirations.
