A new class of storytellers has just crossed the finish line as MTN officially celebrates the graduation of the fourth cohort of its Media Innovation Programme (MIP). What began as a six-month learning adventure has now produced 20 media professionals equipped with sharper skills, broader perspectives, and a deeper grasp of the tech-driven world they report on.
Through MTN’s partnership with the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, the Fellows engaged in dynamic coursework and real-world exposure including an eye-opening study tour to South Africa that expanded their appreciation of media innovation on a global scale.
But the real buzz at the graduation ceremony came from two major announcements that signal an exciting future for the programme:
-
MIP is expanding beyond Nigeria to become fully Pan-African in 2026, creating opportunities for storytellers across the continent.
-
Top-performing Fellows received cash awards totalling ₦2.5 million, honouring outstanding creativity and impactful project work.
With Cohort 4 now stepping into the Alumni Community, MTN continues its commitment to building a stronger, more digitally savvy media ecosystem, one graduate at a time.
