A heavy cloud of sadness hangs over the Lagos State Police Command following the passing of CSP Matilda Ngbaronye, the respected Divisional Police Officer of Festac Division. She breathed her last on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Mayriamville Medical Centre in Surulere, after undergoing surgery.
CSP Ngbaronye was more than an officer in uniform, she was a bridge between the police and the people. Known for her calm authority, discipline, and deep sense of duty, she carried out her responsibilities with grace and compassion. Her warmth and fairness earned her the respect of colleagues and the love of the community she served.
The news of her death came as a painful shock across the Command. The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohunnare Jimoh, described her as “a beacon of integrity and dedication whose legacy will continue to inspire the Force.” He has personally reached out to her husband and family to extend the Command’s condolences and support through this difficult period.
Her passing leaves a void that words can hardly fill. Burial arrangements will be announced later.
May CSP Matilda Ngbaronye’s gentle soul rest in peace, and may her service to humanity never be forgotten.
