Students who switched their bank accounts from digital wallet platforms to commercial banks are now receiving maintenance payments from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, the Fund’s Director of Strategic Communications, made this announcement in Abuja on Friday.

Oluwatuyi claims that this move is a major step forward in addressing previous delays in disbursements.

After upgrading their information to traditional commercial bank accounts on the NELFUND portal, more than 3,600 students who had previously registered with digital-only banking systems have now successfully received their backlog of upkeep payments.

“We value the understanding and patience shown by all impacted students throughout this time. This progress has been made possible by your participation and perseverance,” she remarked.

Oluwatuyi suggested that students who have not yet updated their bank information submit a support ticket through the official NELFUND site in order to have access to the information.

Additionally, she encouraged the impacted kids to report through their school’s IT department, which would gather and send any relevant cases to NELFUND for resolution.

“NELFUND is still dedicated to making sure that no qualified student is overlooked.

“This resolution process is part of our larger effort to improve our support services’ efficiency, transparency, and student-centered delivery,” she stated.
