Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB) has reaffirmed its commitment to national digital transformation and security infrastructure as it formally entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) to establish Smart Police Stations across the country.
Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony in Abuja, GBB’s Managing Director/CEO, Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, described the event as a significant moment in Nigeria’s journey towards a smarter and more secure digital future.
“Today’s ceremony is more than a symbolic agreement; it is a bold step forward in Nigeria’s journey toward digital transformation, national security, and inclusive infrastructure development,” he stated.
“What we are witnessing today is a model for how government institutions can work together to solve big challenges around security and digital development through strategic collaboration and technological innovation.”
The initiative, aligned with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Digital Transformation Agenda, will see Galaxy Backbone deploy its robust fibre-optic infrastructure, eLTE technology, and cloud platforms to power the next generation of police stations. These Smart Police Stations will be equipped with enhanced surveillance systems, integrated communication management, artificial intelligence capabilities, and fortified cybersecurity frameworks.
According to Adeyanju, smart policing will bring faster data access, real-time coordination, improved reporting systems, and greater transparency to law enforcement—restoring public trust and improving responsiveness.
He added that the partnership represents the future of governance: digitally connected, resilient, and protected. The GBB-NPTF collaboration will also serve as a key driver in the implementation of the Integrated Digital Transformation Strategy (2025–2028), which is focused on deepening digital innovation and fostering economic prosperity.
The event ended on a note of optimism, with both institutions looking forward to a transformative and impactful partnership that will contribute meaningfully to national growth and development.
