Nollywood actress Ruby Ojiakor has addressed the backlash surrounding her decision to hold her wedding ceremony at her husband Moc Madu’s place of worship, St. Philips Anglican Church. Taking to Instagram, the actress clarified that her decision was rooted in love, respect, and family values.
She emphasized that her husband, as the head of the family, deserved her honour and support—hence her choice to wed in his church. “Yes, I wedded at St. Philips Anglican Church, my husband’s church,” Ruby wrote.
“And for those of you saying it’s wrong, that it’s supposed to be in the woman’s church, please, when it gets to your turn, you can do as it pleases you, ok?” She continued by expressing deep affection and admiration for her spouse:
“As for me, I wedded in my husband’s church because he married me in full, and he’s the head of the family. My King—I love, adore, and respect you so much.”
Ruby concluded her post with a blessing for her followers, urging them to refrain from unwarranted criticism and celebrating her marriage as a divinely ordained union: “God bless you all and stop dragging me unnecessarily.
