Digital Realty, the world’s largest provider of cloud- and carrier-neutral data center solutions, has announced the extension of its interconnection platform, ServiceFabric, to Nigeria — marking a significant leap in Africa’s digital transformation journey.
The ServiceFabric platform will be deployed directly within Digital Realty’s Lagos-based facilities, LOS1 and LOS2, providing enterprises with high-performance, low-latency connectivity solutions right at the heart of Africa’s largest economy. This move strengthens Digital Realty’s commitment to building seamless, global interconnectivity across emerging markets.
The expansion arrives at a critical time: Africa’s digital economy is booming, expected to double from $23 billion in 2024 to $46 billion by 2029, with Nigeria leading many of these growth initiatives through government programs like the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) project and the Broadband Alliance.

According to Engineer Ikechukwu Nnamani, Managing Director of Digital Realty Nigeria, the deployment is a direct response to Nigeria’s call for global infrastructure localization, aiming to enhance content delivery and integrate international platforms into the local tech ecosystem.
Additionally, with direct connectivity to the Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN), ServiceFabric will enable Nigerian companies and service providers to seamlessly peer with global networks, significantly enhancing the country’s internet quality and resilience.
Already available across 160+ Digital Realty facilities and 500+ third-party partner locations globally — through collaborations with players like Megaport and Console Connect — ServiceFabric offers enterprises a software-defined platform that streamlines and simplifies connections across clouds, partners, and networks.
