The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has advised Nigerians to only make changes to their National Identification Number (NIN) details through its official self-service portal: Selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng.

In a statement, Dr. Kayode Adegoke, NIMC’s Head of Corporate Communications, warned that using unapproved websites for NIN modifications could expose individuals to identity theft and data breaches.

“To ensure your personal information remains safe, always use the official NIMC self-service portal,” Adegoke said. “This platform allows you to update your details securely and conveniently from any location.”

For further inquiries, Nigerians can visit the NIMC website, send an email to nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng, or contact customer support at 0700-2255-6462.
