The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has taken a bold step to ensure accountability and innovation within its institutes. Recently, in a move spearheaded by the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Mr. Khalil S. Halilu, the Overseeing Officer (OO) of the Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI), Minna, Niger State, Dr. John A. Hemen, introduced a performance bond for the institute’s Heads of Department (HoDs).
The signing ceremony took place on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the SEDI Minna premises. Speaking at the event, Dr. Hemen highlighted the importance of the agreement in fostering a results-driven culture within the institute. “This agreement serves as a framework to align departmental goals with NASENI’s overarching objectives,” he said, emphasizing SEDI-Minna’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

The performance bond, which is valid for four years, incorporates robust mechanisms for accountability. It will be reviewed annually, with monthly performance assessments tracking key metrics such as project viability, strategic partnerships, revenue generation, and adherence to project timelines. This structured approach aims to ensure that SEDI-Minna consistently meets NASENI’s expectations, driving innovation and achieving measurable outcomes.
